Mitchell Leads Cavs to 118-94 Victory

Cavaliers bench outscores Celtics bench by 24 points

Donovan Mitchell scored 29 points to lead the Cleveland Cavaliers to a 118-94 victory over the top-seeded Boston Celtics in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals on Thursday night.

The Cavs bench also played a major role in the victory, outscoring the Celtics bench by 24 points. Kevin Love had 17 points and 13 rebounds, while Cedi Osman added 15 points.

The Celtics were led by Jayson Tatum, who had 21 points. Jaylen Brown added 17 points, but he shot just 6-of-18 from the field.

The Cavs took control of the game in the third quarter, outscoring the Celtics 33-19. Mitchell scored 10 points in the quarter, including a pair of three-pointers.

The Celtics never recovered from the Cavs' third-quarter run, and the Cavs cruised to the victory in the fourth quarter.

The Cavs now have a 1-0 lead in the series. Game 2 is scheduled for Saturday night in Boston.
